SERVICE AREA:
At the outset, service will be provided in the area of Truro and environs. It is anticipated that CTCL will expand the service area to include all Colchester County, as soon as practical.
REGULAR SERVICE:
Regular Service is designed to provide travel for work or education on a regular basis. This service does not require a call to the dispatchers for each trip, and may be billed by CTCL on a monthly basis. However, a notice of cancellations must be provided 24 hours in advance, if possible. Failure for clients to provide proper notice could result in a charge for the trip. Consideration will be given for circumstances that require shorter notice.
IRREGULAR SERVICE:
Irregular service operates much like a taxi service, except that clients must call CTCL dispatch at least 24 hours in advance to book a trip. In the case of return trips, where the exact time is in doubt, a call to dispatch will be necessary to arrange for pick-up at the earliest convenience of the driver.
SERVICE STANDARDS:
Every attempt will be made to minimize the waiting and boarding times especially during cold and rainy days. Should a delay in service occur, every effort will be made to contact the clients affected. The vehicle will not wait past the scheduled time reserved for pickup. The driver will assist wheelchair passengers on and off the vehicle, but pickup and delivery of passengers is to curbside only. Drivers are not required to assist passengers with packages, so passengers should limit packages to what they can carry.
It is the repsonsibility of each passenger to provide for any assistance they need to enter or leave buildings.
Persons attending to a client may travel free of charge. The dispatcher must be advised in advance, preferably at time of booking, if an attendant will be accompanying the passenger. Attendants will be required to get on or off the bus at the same location as the passwngers they are attending. (CTCL reserves the right to assess the clients need for an attendant.)
All ambulatory passengers will be requested to wear seat belts, where provided. Passengers refusing to adhere to these precautions will travel at their own risk.
ELECTRIC WHEELCHAIRS:
In the event a user is unable to manipulate the controls on their chair, CTCL requires that the chair be switched to manual mode to ensure the safety of the user, other passengers and the driver during loading and unloading.
Wheelchairs must be anchored safely and securely.

Cancellations or changes must be made during the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.
